Faldingworth Memorial Hall has been the latest to receive a £500 cheque donation from the Gusto Community Fund, a project which aims to enrich local communities around the county.
Faldingworth resident and Gusto Construction Director, Nigel Ward, presented his cheque donation to the team at the hall, and the money has allowed them to purchase a large television screen for the community.
The hall provides a meeting point for residents in Faldingworth, and is used for pub nights, a coffee and tearoom area, a village shop for four mornings of the week and much more.
Launched in September, the Gusto Community Fund aims to enrich communities around the county by giving Gusto employees the chance to donate £500 to a local charity or project of their choice.
Secretary to the Faldingworth Memorial Hall committee, Kate Pears, said: “The village was delighted to hear that one of our residents, Nigel Ward who is construction director for Gusto , had nominated us to Gusto who have an amazing scheme whereby they encourage their employees to nominate a community to receive a donation of £500-00.
“In the spirit of village democracy, Nigel’s daughter placed the issue on the residents Facebook page to see what residents would like to use the money for if donated.
“The overwhelming view of residents appeared to be that they would like a large screen TV for use in the village hall, and Gusto were happy to make the donation on that basis.
“The village hall committee were thrilled to accept the cheque on behalf of the village and we have now purchased a large screen TV with a sturdy mobile stand for the village hall.”
“We are thrilled to have received the money, and with our new TV – are thrilled that a company like Gusto has such generosity and commitment to small communities like our little village”
