Business Lincolnshire to offer new support services for North and North East Lincolnshire

This story is over

Business Lincolnshire has announced that from today, April 1, the transition from the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership to the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership is now complete.

This means that the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub will be taking over full support services for North and North East Lincolnshire businesses, with the Growth Hub offering several new support streams for businesses in these areas including internationalisation, scale up and peer network programmes.

Until today, North and North East Lincolnshire were part of both the Humber and Greater Lincolnshire LEPs.

However, the Humber LEP has now been rebranded as the Hull and East Yorkshire LEP, and will no longer cover locations south of the Humber.

Business Lincolnshire is the business support arm of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, and provides support to Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland businesses in the form of events, webinars, grant funding, guides and resources, and one-to-one adviser support – all fully-funded at no cost to businesses.

There will be no change for North and North East Lincolnshire businesses currently working with advisers from the Humber LEP, but businesses accessing support for the first time should get in touch with the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub.

James Pinchbeck, Chair of the Growth Hub Board, said: “We are delighted that we are able to offer more support than ever before to North and North East Lincolnshire businesses.

“This an exciting time for both the Growth Hub and for businesses seeking to grow in 2021, with the transition bringing experienced new advisers on board to share their knowledge and expertise, as well as three new support streams.

“We look forward to supporting North and North East Lincolnshire businesses of all sizes and sectors to reach their full potential.”

As a result of the transition, the Growth Hub welcomes several new advisers to its team, who will be assisting businesses in everything from finance to ICT to business growth.

This includes:
• Les Selby – ICT Business Adviser
• Steve Parker – Finance for Growth Adviser
• Abdi Farah – North Lincolnshire Adviser
• Kevin Franklin – North East Lincolnshire Adviser
• Julie Fisher – North East Lincolnshire Adviser
• Jenny Reynolds – North East Lincolnshire Adviser

The new support streams available to North and North East Lincolnshire businesses via the Growth Hub include the Business Growth Scheme, which helps businesses to gain the knowledge they need to expand their business; the Finance for Growth Scheme, which offers financial advice and grant funding support to businesses; and the ICT for Growth Scheme, which helps SMEs to develop their operations through technology.

Samantha Harrison, Head of the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub, added: “Although the Growth Hub has been working jointly with North and North East Lincolnshire businesses since 2017, we are pleased to expand our offering as a result of this transition.

“We look forward to continuing our work with local authorities and E-Factor to help SMEs in the north of the county to take their business to the next level, strengthening the local economy and Lincolnshire’s reputation as a hub for business growth.”
