Orderwise celebrates increase in turnover

OrderWise, which has its headquarters in Saxilby and operates under the limited company, Wise Software UK Ltd, has reported a turnover of £14.1M, compared with its turnover of £11.9M in the previous financial year.

The business attributes much of this growth to its capability to help its customers improve end-to-end solutions through modular scalable ERP, WMS and multi-channel software solutions for retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and merchant businesses. This has been in high demand as businesses have needed to adapt to meet changing customer demands and improve efficiency.

According to the ONS, online sales in the UK grew by 46 per cent in 2020 when compared with 2019, which has also meant more returns and customer priorities changing. This has led to many businesses revising their business, warehouse and logistics operations, as well as their ecommerce online strategy. Vitally, companies have needed to ensure they can pick, pack and deliver goods in line with customer expectations of easy ordering and fast delivery.

Speaking on OrderWise’s growth, its founder and CEO, David Hallam, says changing business models, and the support the team has provided to customers, have both played a big part in its growth during a challenging year:

“Businesses have been investing in their online channels and in order fulfilment in response to the impact of the pandemic on buyers’ habits. This has driven significant growth as business models have had to move quickly online. The last 12 months have been challenging for every business whether their revenue increased or fell during the pandemic.

“Many of the sectors we operate in were essential during the lockdown. These businesses not only survived, but also thrived, as they were either providing necessary products or services or they were able to pivot and adapt their operations and services as consumers moved online. Many businesses invested in their end-to-end efficiency to meet customer expectation and demand due to Covid.

“From keeping in close contact with our customers we also know that every business has had a different set of circumstances and experiences during the Covid crisis. As a result, we prioritised our support for customers wherever possible and in March 2020 as lockdown hit, we offered free user licenses worth up to £1.8M to customers so they could support their teams as they moved to remote working.

“We also invest over £4m annually into developing OrderWise, with regular new releases across the year, to introduce new features that have helped our customers adapt to changing trading conditions and improve their efficiency.

“With our growth, it means we are now looking to fill more than ten full time roles across the business. This includes roles in sales, business development, software testing, software development, project implementation and HR & business support teams. The OrderWise team is dynamic, creative, dedicated and diverse, and we are looking for the best people to join us on our journey in taking the company through our next phase of growth.”
